Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock and alternative, but it also has influences from punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely considered to be a symbol of feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own record label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had been in contact while at in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The parents of her mother and father were both from Montreal origin. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors. The song debuted in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. This track appears in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized for holding a conference in Louisiana at an old slave plantation. She cancelled it however many (including this paper) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology just a few weeks after. Her name is associated with her Little Folksinger music, but she has worked with several artists and genres from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The place she lives is New Orleans.
